Exit 56 Blues Festival kicks off in Brownsville

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn.—The rain didn’t stop one popular music festival from taking place in Haywood County.

The Exit 56 Blues Fest kicked off this morning in Brownsville. And while some events had to be scaled down, there was still a great turn out.

The festival began with a Corvette Show at 10 in the morning and awards given for the most-loved rides.

The fun continued with an opening ceremony, 2025 poster reveal, followed by an acoustic music set in the lobby of the Delta Heritage Center.

“Tomorrow will be the finale of the Exit 56 Blues Festival, which will be the Women of the Blues, so tomorrow’s line up will consist of all female artists. Our biggest year that we had was two years, today actually, during the death of the late great Tina Turner,” said Jazzii Anderson, Emcee for Exit 56 Blues Fest.

The Exit 56 Blues Festival continues Sunday with more music and fun from 10 until 6 in the evening.
