Sheriff Bufford Pusser Festival continues in McNairy Co.
McNairy Co., Tenn.—In spite of the rain, a festival continues in McNairy County.
The Sheriff Bufford Pusser Festival continues with Day 3 of fun events.
The festival is hosted in honor of the well-known sheriff and takes place annually drawing interest from miles all around.
Sheriff Bufford Pusser gained recognition as a ruthless, bat carrying law man who stood for justice even having Hollywood films based on his life and career.
Saturday’s event included a bus tour where passengers were escorted to various areas throughout the county including both real sites and those from the movies.
Festival goers also enjoyed live music, karaoke and carnival rides.
A special ceremony was also held honoring Border Patrol Sheriff Mark Lamb of Arizona. A portion of that ceremony also recognized fallen officers and the local officer of the year.
“It’s a good way to remember Sheriff Pusser and his contributions to not only our county and our city here in Adamsville, but also law enforcement local and nationwide and it’s a good way to honor his memory,” said Chief Nathan Reagan, Adamsville Police Dept.
Festivities continue Sunday evening with music from the Dwight Wadkins Band at 7 in the evening.
