More Showers And Storms Today

Weather Update: Monday, May 26 —

Good morning West Tennessee. We’re starting this Memorial Day off on a dry note. Skies are generally cloudy with some filtered sunshine at times. Temps this morning ranged from upper 50s to around 60 degrees. Diurnal heating will push temps slowly through the 60s to around 68-70°F at the warmest point of the day. A surface stationary front will begin lifting north towards the region through late morning with a mid level wave along the boundary, which should help focus showers and perhaps a few embedded storms today. SPC had a Marginal Risk (1/5)for isolated severe threat, but removed it for the 7:30 Am update, so that has been changed after I recorded this.

Today thru Tonight:
Scattered showers and storms are expected to increase today mainly from about lunchtime and stick around steady through the remainder of this afternoon and evening. Severe threat has been removed, but there still could be a few heavier embedded cells that produce pea/dime sized hail today. be on the lookout foe hyper-local flooding as the ground is saturated and won’t hold much..
