Showers Tonight & Another Round on Tuesday. Mid Week Break in the Rain Coming!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:

Well it sure wasn’t the nicest Memorial Day weekend across West Tennessee. We had to deal with some showers and storms on Saturday and even some stronger storms on Sunday. Some gusty wind storms took down trees and caused power outages across the Mid South making for a rough go at it for another with outdoor plans. The rain showers will continue Monday evening into Monday night but we are NOT expecting strong storms or severe weather. One last round of rain showers is coming in from the system before it clears out Tuesday night.

Highs on Monday only made it into the mid to upper 60s for the majority of West Tennessee. The clouds stuck around for the entire day and the showers showed back up in the afternoon. We are not expecting strong thunderstorms but a few rumbles of thunder will be possible this evening and tonight. The clouds will stick around for most of the night and the winds will be calm in general. Overnight lows will linger in the mid 60s all night long.

More rain and a few storms will be moving in again on Tuesday. Some lightning and heavy rain looks possible but the severe weather threat seems quite low as of now. The showers will move out late Tuesday and we should be dry Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Expect another mostly cloudy day and the winds will be light and come out of the west most of the day. Tuesday highs will reach the mid 70s and Tuesday night lows will fall down to the low 60s. The clouds will break up some overnight into the day on Wednesday.

Wednesday will be a bit warmer with highs reaching the upper 70s to near 80°. There will be some leftover clouds that will take their time moving out but there should be some periods of sunshine as well towards the back half of the day. The winds on Wednesday will come out of the northwest on the back side of the low pressure system that brought us our rain on Tuesday. Skies will try to clear out Wednesday night into Thursday morning and that will allow overnight temperatures to fall down to around 60° to kick off our Thursday.

Thursday is going to start out nice with some sunshine and dry weather but a system will approach later in the day and could bring some rain showers or weak storms with it. We are not expecting strong storms or severe weather on Thursday and chances for rain are only 40% as of now. Clouds will increase as the day goes on and the winds on Thursday will come out of the west. Thursday night lows will again fall down to around 60°. Some of the rain showers are expected to continue Thursday night into the first half of the day on Friday.
Some rain is expected during the first half of the day on Friday but will move out sometime during the back half of the day. Friday will start out mostly cloudy but there could be some late clearing and the skies will clear out Friday night into the upcoming weekend. The winds on Friday are expected to come out of the north and that will keep the temperatures down a bit. Highs on Friday will reach the mid to upper 70s depending on when the clouds move out. Friday night lows will fall down to the upper 50s but a nice weekend looks to be on the way.
THIS WEEKEND:
It isn’t a guarantee yet but we could be looking at our first dry weekend in a while. Most of the forecast guidance is hinting at a dry weekend as of now but a few scenarios bring a few showers back late into the weekend. We will keep an eye on the forecast as the weekend progresses because we really could use a mostly sunny, nice and dry weekend for us here in West Tennessee.
Highs on Saturday and Sunday should crack the 80° mark but how far into the 80s will determine how much sunshine we get to peek through over the weekend. Morning lows will hang around 60° both morning and we are NOT expecting a humid weekend as of now. The winds are forecast to come out of the northwest on Saturday but turn to the west or southwest as the weekend goes on. The sooner they turn to the southwest, the warmer it will be this weekend. The pleasant weather looks to stick around into the start of next week with highs finally climbing back above normal by next Monday!
