JMCSS Budget Committee members meet for monthly meeting
JACKSON, Tenn. — It’s the end of the school year and one local school system holds their monthly meeting to discuss the future.
Earlier Tuesday afternoon, the Jackson-Madison County School System’s Budget Committee met to discuss their final clean-up amendments for fiscal year 2025.
With only two months remaining in the current fiscal year, leaders are currently using about 89% of their budget, and the budget will end up being under at around 4-5%.
They also talked about the budget moving into fiscal year ’26.
“But all in all it was a good meeting. I think there is more discussion that’s going to happen in two weeks at our work session to find out if we’re going to make any changes to our budget before we submit it to our final version over to the county for their approval–budget approval–on June 16, but we’re just trying to dial all that in right now,” said Jason Compton, JMCSS school board member.
The board will hold their next work session in two weeks.
