The storms are having a very hard time developing tonight so far which is obviously good news for us. There still could be a couple storms tonight into the early morning hours on Friday but our severe weather threat is looking low at this time. The showers will move out by Friday morning making for a nice afternoon on Friday and the great weather will stick around into the day on Saturday. We cannot rule out a few showers on Sunday but the next chance for heavy rain and storms after tonight should not be showing up until the back half of the following work week. THIS WEEK:

There could be a few strong storms later Thursday night and chances for rain are 40% as of now. Although the severe weather threat appears to be low, A marginal risk (1/5) for severe storms is still out for all of West Tennessee tonight.

Some rain is possible early Friday but will move out quickly as the day gets going. Friday will start out mostly cloudy but there will be some mid day clearing and the skies will clear out Friday night into the upcoming weekend. The winds on Friday are expected to come out of the north and that will keep the temperatures down a bit. Highs on Friday will reach the mid to upper 70s depending on when the clouds move out. Friday night lows will fall down to the upper 50s but a nice weekend looks to be on the way.

THIS WEEKEND:

It isn’t a guarantee yet but we could be looking at our first dry weekend in a while. Most of the forecast guidance is hinting at a dry weekend as of now but a few scenarios bring a few showers back late into the weekend. We will keep an eye on the forecast as the weekend progresses because we really could use a mostly sunny, nice and dry weekend for us here in West Tennessee. If there are a few showers or storms, Sunday seems more likely than Saturday for them to show up as of now.

Highs on Saturday and Sunday should crack the 80° mark but how far into the 80s will determine how much sunshine we get to peek through over the weekend. Morning lows will hang around 60° both morning and we are NOT expecting a humid weekend as of now. The winds are forecast to come out of the northwest on Saturday but turn to the west or southwest as the weekend goes on. The sooner they turn to the southwest, the warmer it will be this weekend. The pleasant weather looks to stick around into the start of next week with highs finally climbing back above normal by next Monday!

NEXT WEEK:

Some really nice weather is expected for the first part of next week. Expect  sunny skies on Monday with highs reaching the mid 80s. Rain is not in the forecast for Monday or Tuesday but could look to return late Wednesday into the day on Thursday. Some storms appear possible Wednesday night through Thursday evening in West Tennessee. Monday night lows will drop down to the mid 60s and Tuesday highs could reach the upper 80s for some of us. Upper 80s will continue on Wednesday but under the clouds and showers we should be a little cooler for Thursday. Tuesday night lows will fall into the low 70s and expect similar numbers Wednesday night until the storm chances into Thursday morning. Some severe weather will be possible next week as well so we will be keeping a close eye on things are the middle of the week comes around.
