Jackson-Madison DAR Chapter honors a Revolutionary War hero
JACKSON, Tenn.—One local organization celebrates an American Revolutionary War Hero.
The Jackson-Madison Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution hosted a special event in honor of Marquis de Lafayette today in Anderson Park. The celebration kicked off at 10 Saturday morning.
The event featured live violin performances from the Revolutionary period as well as a reenactor. Robert Briley, who is a historian, was on hand to talk more about the life of Lafayette.
“He believed in working with us and helping us during the American Revolution. He was instrumental in helping us to be undivided, to be patriots, and to honor our patriots as we do in the Daughters of the American Revolution,” said Jeanita Hicks, Regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
This unique historical event was free and open to the public.
