Crime Stoppers kicks off 33rd annual golf tournament, fundraiser
JACKSON, Tenn. — Crime Stoppers hosted their 33rd annual fundraising golf tournament this afternoon at the Jackson National Golf Course.
The tournament is one of the largest fundraisers hosted by Crime Stoppers to continue raising funds needed over the next year.
Registration and lunch began at 11 a.m. catered by Boss Hog Barbecue. The 18-hole tournament kicked off at 12 p.m.
“We set it up as a scramble, it’s a 2-putt-rule. It goes pretty fast, it speeds the course up. All the money that’s raised today will be used to pay people who call Crime Stoppers. Just call in and, when an arrest is made, you will get your cash reward sometime the same day,” said Mike Johnson with Crime Stoppers.
There was a $500 prize for the overall winning team.
