Carr Thomas “Tommy” Sanford

Born on November 18, 1937, in Jackson, Tennessee, Tommy was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
Tommy proudly served his country in the United States Navy and carried his love for family, country, and the outdoors throughout his life. He was a devoted family man, known for his kind heart, steady presence, and strong work ethic. In his younger days, Tommy found great joy in rabbit, deer, and squirrel hunting. He also had a deep appreciation for classic country music and was especially fond of old western movies—his favorites being those starring John Wayne.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Sarah Storms; his parents, Morris and Ruby Storms Sanford; his sister, Shirley Reynolds; and his brothers, Leroy and Jimmy Sanford.
Tommy is survived by his daughters, Rose Wallace and Rita Mullins (Charles); his son, Tommy Sanford; and his custodial children, Heidi Hutchison and Jeremiah Sanford. He also leaves behind his brother, Paul Sanford; nine cherished grandchildren; and fourteen beloved great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m., with committal to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson, Tennessee.
Tommy will be remembered for the love he gave, the stories he shared, and the legacy he leaves behind in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
