JMCRHD looking at smaller budget for FY2026, discusses possible rebrand
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Board of Health met at the Jackson Madison County Regional Health Department to discuss budget and possible rebranding.
The upcoming fiscal year budget was approved this year. The department will be working with a smaller budget.
It was shared that Covid funds were taken away from the department and some contracts were terminated. The department is planning to look into more grants to cover those losses.
There will be a possible rebranding from the health department that will be disclosed to the public at a later date.
“The county funded portion of our budget has gone up slightly–6.5%. However, the state grant funded portion–grants and contracts–has actually gone down 20%. So we are working on a decreased budget this year,” said Ginger Rowsey, public information officer for JMCRHD.
The emergency response team has made impactful progress in their deployments to help those in the community.
