Taking a trip overseas? Don’t forget these tips
JACKSON, Tenn. — The weather is warm, and for many of us, that means it’s time to travel–including trips overseas.
Of course, international travel means you have some extra planning to do before taking off; what to take, what not to take, are any vaccines needed for where I’m going?
A smooth trip starts with a good checklist.
Dr. Amy Lynn Safaty, pharmacy district leader for CVS Pharmacy, gives insight on how to prep for a great summer travel experience.
“It’s a good idea, before you travel, to make an appointment with your healthcare provider, at least four-to-six weeks before your departure, just to make sure you have enough of your prescription medications on hand, and also to see if they’re any vaccines you need prior to travelling,” said Dr. Safaty.
While travel always comes with a bit of unpredictable adventure, being prepared for the unexpected is critical to staying safe and healthy away from home–no matter where you’re headed this summer.
