Barbara Ann Bratcher

Barbara Bratcher Jackson Tn Obituary

Barbara Ann Bratcher, 82, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025.

Born on August 16, 1942, in Jackson, Tennessee, Barbara was raised by her loving parents, Charles Everett Jones and Emma Mae Ward Jones, who instilled in her the values of kindness, hard work, and devotion to family. Barbara was a longtime and dedicated Sales Associate with JC Penney, where she built strong friendships and served customers with warmth and care for 22 years until her retirement. She was known for her fun-loving spirit, unmistakable laugh, and her unmistakable love for all things leopard print.

Barbara found joy in life’s simple pleasures—traveling, spending time outdoors, and singing with heart, whether in the church choir or cruising in her car. But above all else, her greatest joy and deepest pride came from her role as a mother and grandmother. She was a constant source of love, encouragement, and comfort to her children and grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Jade, was never far from her side.

She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend—someone whose presence lit up every room and whose memory will continue to do so in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her siblings, Jessie Jones and Eugene Jones.

She is survived by her four children: Chris Walker, Patricia Landers, Teresa Walker, and Jennifer Bullock; her grandchildren: Justin Sanders, Tiffany Walker, Ryan Landers, Jacob Walker, Devan Walker, Kayla Landers, Kyle Jones, and Savanna Welch; and her siblings: Billy Jones, Alvin Jones, and Larry Jones.

A service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons, with entombment to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society, Jackson Animal Care Center, Downtown Dogs Group, or the animal charity of your choice—an especially fitting tribute to Barbara’s lifelong love for animals.

Barbara Ann Bratcher’s laughter, generosity, and unmistakable style will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
