JEA works to restore power after 8 utility poles fall along McClellan Road

UPDATE (06/06/25 — 8:51pm): In an update, JEA says the downed poles have been replaced and set, but they are still checking lines and must finish attaching them. It is likely with checks of the feeds into the underground system that power will not be restored until early morning Saturday instead.

UPDATE (06/06/25 — 7:10pm): According to JEA, all poles have been set now and power is expected to be restored later tonight.

Crews are working to repair the lines as soon as possible. JEA asks residents to stay tuned to their outage page and social media for the latest updates.

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Energy Authority is warning that some customers may be without power for a little while.

Just before 2 p.m. Friday, JEA said eight power poles along McClellan Road were down, leaving approximately 1,000 utility customers without power. Now, according to JEA’s Outage Center map, around 600 people are still without power.

JEA is on the scene and working to replace and reset these poles, but it is an extensive process and they say some of the outages could be lengthy.

The Jackson Engineering Department says all lanes of McClellan Road from Windy City to Wyndchase Drive are closed until the repairs are complete.
