CCHSAA celebrates 3rd annual Juneteenth in Alamo
ALAMO, Tenn.—One county celebrates the returns of its Juneteenth event.
The Crockett County High School Alumni Association hosted its Juneteenth celebration Saturday.
The event kicked off at 11 in the morning at the community center located at 142 Conley Road in Alamo.
There were several activities available throughout the day including bingo, free throw contests, talent show and a dance off.
The event also included a car show at noon, guest speakers and a special kids zone area.
“Juneteenth is all about celebrating freedom. It’s about when slaves were considered free. Proceeds that we do make today off the vendors and everything is going to go to make this a community center. So, it’s all about community and we’re trying to get all of the community involved,” said Tiffany Hogan, Chair of Juneteenth Committee.
This is the third year for the Juneteenth event in Alamo and proceeds will go towards renovations to the community center.
