State Games continue in the Hub City

JACKSON, Tenn.—Athletes compete for the gold at the State Games held right here in Jackson.

The State Games of Tennessee continue this weekend.

Athletes competed in games at the West TN Sportsplex located at 250 Bancorpsouth Pkwy in Jackson.

Sunday’s events include youth softball, youth baseball, and pickleball.

Teams and winners competed for Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals to be awarded in each age division.

“It was actually supposed to be a two day tournament. We showed up ready to play ball yesterday. The weather kind of took that away from us, so we stayed and had a team bonding night and had a lot of fun. We decided to show up today. It turned into a one day tournament and we’re here ready to play some ball,” said Crystal Scott, Baseball mom.

The State Games of Tennessee is an Olympic style, multi-sporting event that allows for athletes of all ages and skill levels to compete.

Some winners may also have the opportunity to advance forward to participate at the State Games of America.
