West TN Skydiving hosts its Sister in Skydiving Boogie

WHITEVILLE, Tenn.—West Tennessee Skydiving presents its 10th annual Sisters in Skydiving Boogie.

This is the organization’s largest event of the year, to uplift and empower women in the sport.

This year, the all-female group will welcome 86-year-old skydiver Kim Knor, who’s on a mission across the country to achieve 1,000 tandem skydives and earn her official gold wings.

Kim has been skydiving since she was just 20 years old, and has made history as a member of the first U.S. Women’s Parachute Team and Skydiving Hall of Famer.

“I thank God every day that we are up in the sky there. Oh. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I get to fly like a bird. I don’t need an engine, a motor, or anything like that. I can learn how to maneuver. We did turns today when I just jumped with Jen and just by directing the air with your hands you can turn around and do all kinds of things up there,” Knor said.

She’ll be jumping at the drop zone through Thursday, June 12.
