Humboldt library remains open as construction continues on new addition

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Construction has begun on the new children’s library in Humboldt.

The groundbreaking for the new addition to the Humboldt Public Library was held in May. Now residents will see changes not just in the progress of the construction, but in parking.

A temporary fence has been put in place to secure the construction zone on Central Avenue and a small part of Burrow Street.

“Without the community’s support, it wouldn’t happen, and again the continuous community support from our city boards, as well as just local citizens that had made this happen, they make this library work and serve its community for going on 74 years,” said John Blankenship, library director.

The library released a map showing visitors where to park. Library parking will be available on Burrow Street and on 16th Avenue.
