Upgrades and improvements coming to local parks in Madison County
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Madison county conservation board held its regular meeting Tuesday evening.
According to Matthew Martin with Madison county parks, they are finishing paving the parking lot at H. Leroy Pope park, and they’ve renovated the concessions and bathrooms.
Martin says they have installed new sinks at Pugh Bourne park and they are getting ready to start paving there as well.
Also, there are improvements coming to some ball parks.
For the next two weeks they will be doing some laser grading and leveling at Pugh Bourne ball field, Pope park will follow when the new budget year hits.
Martin says the goal is improve the playability and safety of the fields.

There will also be a grand reopening at the Beech Bluff park.
“Beech Bluff we’re going to have Duck Days on July 26, that’s a whole days events, special events run by our staff at Beech Bluff. And we’re tying in to that to have a grand reopening of our newly renovated gymnasium, we got a new pavilion out there,” Martin shared.
Martin says the playground at Beech Bluff likely won’t be open by the grand reopening, but it will still be a day of fun with tours of the facility and gym.
