JACKSON, Tenn. — The U.S. Army is turning 250 years old!
To celebrate this historic moment, the Army is highlighting the young soldiers who are carrying on its rich legacy and reaffirming its enduring relevance in today’s world.
1st Lt. Nathan Mapes represents the next generation of soldiers who are proudly carrying on the army’s most cherished traditions.
1st Lt. Mapes was raised in a home where public service was the highest calling, and his family’s history of service traces back to the Revolutionary War.
“I mean, I find purpose every single day when I get up and get to put on this uniform,” he told us.
