Active Weather Pattern Through Father’s Day Weekend
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
Our stretch of nice weather has come to a close here in West Tennessee. Showers and storms will return to West Tennessee Thursday evening and will linger with sporadic coverage over the course of the next several days. Fortunately, the chance for severe weather remains very low. We have the details here.
Thursday Night:
The SPC has placed portions of Southwest Tennessee under a Marginal Risk (1/5) for severe weather. Primary concerns are strong winds and flash flooding. A brief tornado cannot be ruled out and severe hail of one inch diameter is not expected. This system will linger for several days, but will weaken after it passes Thursday Night.
Friday:
Scattered showers and storms will impact the region for almost all of Friday. Temperatures will be slightly cooler, around the low-80s. Winds will likely be variable due to the coverage in storms. Futurecast has been hinting at a line segment through several runs today that would impact portions of West Tennessee late on Friday, but should remain sub-severe.
Weekend:
Chances for showers and storms will drop, but you can still expect to see a couple pop up thunderstorms throughout Father’s Day Weekend. This should not discourage you from taking part in plans, but do be sure to have a plan to fall on should a storm impact you directly.
