More Showers & Weak Storms Through Saturday Night!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:

Rain was very heavy on Friday and some flash flooding was occurring due to a widespread 2-3″ of rain in the morning. More rain showers and some storms are expected to mix in with the rain later this evening and tonight. The severe weather threat looks low with this system but there could be a severe storm or two so we will need to watch things closely Friday night and into the weekend as the slow moving low pressure system will continue to impact our weather.

Highs on Friday reached the mid to upper 80s depending on how was most impacted by early the showers and storms that showed up. Skies were mostly cloudy and will remain that way tonight. The winds have been light today and will continue to come out of the south tonight. Friday night lows will fall down to the low 70s to start off our wet weekend.

FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND:
Showers and storms appear likely for our Father’s Day weekend unfortunately in West Tennessee. Chances for rain is higher on Saturday at 80% and only 30% as of now on Sunday. Storms are expected to mix in but overall the severe weather threat appears to be on the low side. If you are planning a BBQ, going to the lake or river you need to monitor the forecast as the week goes on and we gain more confidence in the timing and severity of the storms that could develop. Highs will still reach the mid 80s this weekend as we are expecting southerly winds to keep our temperatures up some. The big question with the weekend forecast will be how fast the low pressure system moves out and if we will be dry on Father’s Day. There will be more clouds than sun this weekend. Both nights lows will drop into the low 70s.
NEXT WEEK:
More showers and pop up storms are expected as we head into next week. As of now, the storms do not appear to be the severe weather type storms. That being said, anytime a pop up storm can develop in a warm and humid environment they can become strong quickly and produce gusty winds. Chances for these storms are higher on Monday than on Tuesday but will try to pop back up again at times on Wednesday and Thursday. Keep a close eye on the sky and radar if you have outdoor plans next week to avoid any dangerous lightning that might show up. Highs next week will be in the upper 80s to low 90s each day. The overnight lows will only fall down to the low 70s each morning due to the high humidity that will be sticking around from the southwest winds. Every day next week will be similar to the previous day during the work week.
