Former NFL player offers free football camp
WHITEVILLE, Tenn.—One NFL player returns to Whiteville with a football camp.
Dexter McCluster, a former NFL Player for the Tennessee Titans, returns to Hardeman County to give back with his annual football camp.
The event is free and available to boys and girls ages 5 to 18-years-old.
The camp, hosted at Whiteville Civic Park, offers skills like ball techniques, games, footwork and teamwork exercises, all taught from a pro.
McCluster also brings along some special guests to help out and those who attend are even treated to a free meal.
“About five years ago a buddy of mine gave me a call and told me about his father in law being the Mayor here in Whiteville, Tennessee. He just wanted to bring some excitement here to the city and give the kids something to look forward to. When I first came down here a lot of these kids really didn’t know how to work. They didn’t really know anything about technique but here we are on number five man time is flying,” McCluster said.
McCluster offers the camp annually for young, up and coming athletes looking to hone their skills or just have some fun!
