Jackson Pride hosts first-ever Pride Month BBQ
JACKSON, Tenn.—A family fun event is held in celebration of Pride month.
Jackson Pride hosted its first-ever Pride Month BBQ celebration Saturday in Jackson.
The event took place at Conger Park from 11 until 3 Saturday afternoon.
It was a great turn out with lots of activities for the entire family.
There was free food including hotdogs, and hamburgers with all the fixings.
The event also included music to enjoy, and games to play. It was an overall celebration of coming together as one community.
“This is our first annual Jackson Pride BBQ. We’ve always done our pride in September and we still will do it this year as well, but people kept asking us when can we do something in June. So, we thought we’ll do an actual BBQ and it’s free to the community,” said Darren Lykes, Co-Founder, Jackson Pride.
The event was free to attend and organizers hope to make it an annual event.
