Scattered Showers & Storms Tuesday, Severe Threat Late Wednesday Night!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
A few weak storms & rain showers will continue tonight & linger into the first half of the day on Tuesday in West TN! Some stronger and possible severe storms will return late Wednesday evening through early Thursday morning. Some of us are already under a slight risk (2-5). After the storms move out Thursday, some really nice weather is on the way. We are likely looking at the hottest and driest weekend we have had so far in 2025! Catch the full forecast details coming up right here.

THIS WEEK:
Another round of showers and storms went up Monday afternoon and some will continue this evening into Monday night. Severe storms seem unlikely but some heavy rain, lightning and occasional wind gusts can be expected with some of the storms tonight. The stronger storms should stay south and east of Madison county this evening. We hit the mid 80s again and overnight lows will drop back down to around 70°. Expect a mostly cloudy night and the winds will be light and come out of the south.

Tuesday will be a lot like Monday with a few rounds of non severe storms and afternoon heavy rain showers. Rain chances are around 70% so the majority of us will be impacted by the rain at some time during the day on Tuesday. Highs will reach the low to mid 80s as we will be under a mostly cloudy sky. The winds will be light and come out of the southwest. Tuesday night lows will fall down to the low 70s as we kick off your Wednesday.

A cold front will be approaching late in the day on Wednesday and that will bring a chance for some strong and possibly severe storms late in the day on Wednesday and lasting overnight into early Thursday morning. Gusty winds will be the main threat but we cannot 100% rule out a brief tornado or large hail threat as well. If we get storms early in the evening they will be stronger than if we just get the storms overnight after the sun has gone down. The front will stall out and probably not move through West Tennessee. Highs will reach the upper 80s to near 90° on Wednesday and it will be quite humid as well. Wednesday night lows will drop down to the low to mid 70s.

Some of the showers and storms are expected to linger into Thursday morning and some could be strong as we start the day. As the day goes on, most of the showers and storms will have moved out. There could be some redevelopment in our eastern counties late in the day but they should be crossing the Tennessee River during the day and making for a dry Thursday night. We could see a couple of strong storms near the Tennessee River in the evening hours but there is not a lot of confidence in the redevelopment of those storms on Thursday in our area as of now. Highs on Thursday will reach the mid to upper 80s and Thursday night lows will fall down to the low 70s again to start our Friday.
Friday could be the start of an extended dry period for us in West Tennessee. There will be some clouds lingering around but they should clear out as the day goes on. Highs on Friday will reach the low 90s and the winds will come out of the southwest. Rain is not expected as of now but a quick shower cannot 100% be ruled out. Friday night lows will fall down to the low to mid 70s as the humidity will be increasing during the day and sticking around into the upcoming weekend.
THIS WEEKEND:
The warmest and nicest summer weekend of 2025 so far appears to be coming for the upcoming weekend. Highs will make it into the low to mid 90s with many locations seeing their warmer weather of the season so far. On top of the heat, it will be quite humid as well. The heat index (feels like) temperature will probably top 100° at times this weekend for the first time in 2025 for many folks across the area. Rain is not in the forecast either day but with things being so hot and humid, a heat/humidity driven shower or storm cannot be ruled out. Expect mostly sunny skies or just flat out sunny skies at times this weekend as well. The winds will be light and come out of the southwest. If you have been waiting for a nice weekend to take out the boat, hit the lake or river, pull out that slip and slide or backyard pool, this will be the weekend to do it!
