Beech Lake heats up with the ‘Fire on the Water’ Boat Races

LEXINGTON, Tenn.–The first day of summer kicked off Friday evening at exactly 9:42 p.m.

But this weekend, some racing enthusiasts will celebrate the Summer Solstice with the thrill of high-speed racing on the water .

Rev up your engines. Hosted by the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce the ‘Fire on the Water’ Boat Races are happening on Beech Lake in Lexington this weekend, presented by the River Ratt Drag Association.

Organizers say don’t miss out on the this family fun!

“It’s absolutely amazing what your gonna see. We’ve got jet boats, V-drive, flat-bottom boats, hydroplane. There’s gonna be boats anywhere from 90 mph to 170, 180 mph at a thousand feet at a dead stop. So, when they come rolling by you, it’s pretty amazing,” said Mark Robinson, president of the
River Ratt Drag Association.

The ‘Fire on the Water Boat Races’ is happening both Saturday and Sunday and will start at 9 each morning.
The cost for entry is $10 per person.
