Humboldt Football Preview

The Humboldt Vikings   have started working for the upcoming season.
Last season was definitely a year where they were still
trying to connect all the dots. I say this because there
was plenty of talent on the roster but they only managed to
win three games on the year. The positive thing out of this
was how explosive their offense was. In seven of their games
they scored 24 or more points and most of those starters are
returning.  Defensively they have took the approach to try working
on tackling and forcing turnovers. We caught up with head coach
Hayden Williams and he spoke about the offseason program and
taking the next step.

“The biggest thing is just getting bigger, faster and stronger for us like i said we’ve hit the weight room hard hit out here hard just trying to get faster you know that way the game will kinda slow
down for these guys a lot of these guys get kinda stuck in their head if we can get them you know kinda caught up to speed and ready to go then they slow down for them a little bit and they’ll be able to use that athleticism that they have to help us out and help us win games. I think will take a good little step forward like i said last year we laid some good foundational pieces put some building blocks down and I feel like the guys we have coming back are ready to step up.”
The Vikings will kick the season off on the road
facing off with Halls at 7:00 pm on August 22nd.
