Tennessee among top five states battling scam texts, calls

JACKSON, Tenn. — Tennessee is a top five state battling scam texts and calls, but one company is helping fight them.

We spoke with Clayton Liabraaten, the Senior Executive Advisor and industry spokesmen for Truecaller.

To help prevent scams, Liabraaten says “if there is a link in the text, do not click it unless you are expecting it.”

Liabraatten also shared why Tennessee is such a big target for scammers.

“If the criminals are getting some traction and getting some response by interacting with people from Tennessee, then they will just double down on that market until they saturate it, then they will move on to their next market,” Liabraatten said.
