Barricade situation breaks out as Jackson police work to apprehend individual

JACKSON, Tenn. — A large police presence gathers in Jackson Tuesday evening as a wanted individual barricades themselves inside a shed.
We took to the scene around 9 p.m. on Lee Street and noticed special units from the Jackson Police Department along with EMS personnel.
We reached out to the Jackson Police Department’s public information officer who shared that they are assisting the Tennessee Department of Corrections with the apprehension of a wanted individual who barricaded themselves inside a shed in the 100 block of Lee Street. JPD has not shared what the individual is wanted for.
JPD’s negotiation teams are also on-site. Police say there is no immediate threat to the public.
