Jackson Rotary Club welcomes new president in recent meeting

JACKSON, Tenn. — Earlier Wednesday, the Jackson Rotary Club hosted a special transitional meeting to introduce their new president.

David Comperry was appointed by the previous president Caroline Vaughn. David has been a rotarian for 18 years.

He served as the president of the rotary club of Newbern from 1978 to 1983.

Other topics discussed in the meeting included making grants to some non-profits in the community, and discussing possible new programs, such as a women’s conference and an interact club for the local youth.

“‘United for Good,’ that is the theme for this year. I think in a time when there is so much divisiveness–so much fragmentation in society and in our world–the whole idea of being united for good is not just a motto, it ought to be what we all strive for,” said Comperry.

The club will also be hosting a rotary golf tournament later this year.
