Brownsville officials pass 2nd reading for FY25-26 budget
BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — Local city leaders attempt to finalize their budget for the next fiscal year.
Earlier Thursday, the Brownsville Board of Mayor and Alderman held a special called meeting. Brownsville leaders passed the 2nd reading of the 2025-2026 fiscal year budget.
They also discussed the establishment of an ambulance district within the city limits. Everyone was invited to attend the meeting.
“But I was torn on both sides, and this is an opportunity for us to try to make it better for everybody and that’s what we always want. We want to have the best for our community,” said Brownsville Mayor William Rawls.
The budget includes $7 million towards public safety and no tax increases.
