Scattered Showers & Storms Tonight/Tuesday, Nice Upcoming Holiday!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
Some non severe storms producing up to 40 MPH winds, lightning, heavy rain and maybe some small hail are crossing the Mississippi River during the 9pm hour and tracking to the east. These storms will move into our area soon and stick around into the overnight hours. A severe storm or two cannot be ruled out but overall the severe weather threat appears to be low with these storms. Some of them will linger into Tuesday morning before clearing out in the early afternoon hours. Once these storms move out, much quieter weather is coming for several days. Catch your holiday weekend forecast coming up right here.

THIS WEEK:
We have a few rounds of showers and storms this weekend and some continued early on Monday here in West Tennessee. Most of us saw a break this afternoon and evening but more are on the way around and after the sun goes down tonight. We are under a marginal risk (1/5) for severe storms tonight but overall severe weather seems unlikely at this time due to the timing of the storms. If the storms do become strong, some gusty winds, lightning and brief heavy rain appear to be the only threats.

Highs made it back up to around 90° for most of us on our Monday but with the humidity, it felt around 100° most of the afternoon. It was not hot enough for a heat advisory but those might be returning as we head into our 4th of July weekend. Skies will be mostly cloudy tonight and the winds will be calm excect for when a storm is in your area. Temperatures tonight will drop down to the low 70s to kick off your Tuesday.

More showers and storms will be lingering around during the first half of the day on Tuesday but they will be clearing out into the afternoon and by the evening, dry weather will have returned for all of us. Skies will start out mostly cloudy but will break up some as the down progresses. The winds will come out of the northwest during the back half of the day behind the front that will pass by in the morning and afternoon hours. Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s and Tuesday night lows will fall down to the upper 60s.

Another extended dry spell will look to start on Wednesday and stick around into the upcoming weekend. Skies will be mostly sunny on Wednesday and the winds will be light and come out of the north. The northerly winds should keep the humidity down making for a really nice day. Highs will still make it up to the upper 80s to around 90° but it will be a dry heat for Mid South standards. Wednesday night lows will fall down again to the upper 60s. Rain is not in the forecast on Wednesday.

Thursday will be a repeat of Wednesday with mostly sunny skies, a light breeze out of the north and overall another great day. Temperatures might be a little warmer with high reaching the low 90s but it will again not be humid on Thursday. Rain again is NOT in the forecast and Thursday night lows will fall down to the upper 60s to around 70° to start off our 4th of July.
One of the nicer 4th of July’s in a while is on the way for us in West Tennessee. We are not expecting any rain and should continue to see mostly sunny skies. Highs will reach the low to mid 90s and it will be a very humid day. The winds are forecast to come out of the east but the heat index still could reach close to 100° in the afternoon and evening hours. The weather will be very nice for all outdoor firework displays or outdoors plans on the 4th. Friday night lows will fall down to the low 70s to kick off the upcoming weekend.

THIS WEEKEND:
We are looking at a mostly dry and very nice weekend across West Tennessee so make some outdoor plans to celebrate our country’s Independence Day. It is going to be quite hot this weekend and the humidity is going to be higher during the weekend than during the week because the winds are expected to return to the south for both Saturday and Sunday. This could lead to a pop up shower or two but as of now, rain chances are only 10% on Saturday and 20% on Sunday. Severe weather seems unlikely so do not let the isolated shower chance on Sunday stop you from doing things outside. Highs for both days will reach the mid 90s but it will feel in the mid 100s at times so expect another heat advisory to be issued for the upcoming weekend. We are still expecting mostly sunny skies but with the humidity being high, some clouds will develop in the afternoon and evening hours as with mostly clear nights. Overnight lows will also be quite high this weekend and only fall to the low to mid 70s. Make some plans and enjoy the wonderful upcoming 3 day weekend if you are lucky enough to get one!
