8th annual fireworks celebration hosted in Milan
MILAN, Tenn. — An 8th annual tradition returns to one local community.
The City of Milan held their annual 4th of July celebration that brought out a large amount of residents.
“It’s good for the Milan community they’re doing some fireworks for the community and I just like how they do all of that and it’s really good for the kids and the parents,” said Mason, attendee.
There were plenty of food trucks from attendees to select from. Options included hotdogs, barbecue and don’t forget dessert.
“I just love the community coming out. Our park is one of the best features we have in Milan and I love people that want to come out, enjoy the park, see the music and eat at the food trucks, and enjoy a great night,” said Alyson Harris, Milan Parks and Rec.
Leading up to the fireworks show, residents could enjoy some good music from one band.
“We have the Kimberlie Helton Band here tonight and they’ll be playing. And we’re excited to have live music back this year. That was something that we wanted to bring back and we’re glad we can make it happen,” said Harris.
Thursday night’s fireworks show will be produced by the Milan Fire Department. During the event they also taught some safety tips before the holiday.
“We’re doing a little fire prevention stuff and we’re giving away free toys to the kids. We got some food trucks out here tonight. I think the fireworks show is going to be behind the ball fields,” said Belton Luter, deputy fire chief for the Milan Fire Department.
