Preparations underway for annual Firefighters Freedom Festival

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The 12th Annual Firefighters Freedom Festival is almost here, and preparations are underway.

At the Jackson Regional Airport, firefighters and volunteers are busy setting up parking spaces, the stage, and much more.

Portable restrooms are set in place, and the fireworks base is in the works.

This year, you can expect more water attractions and rides for the kids.

“Well, as we say around the firehouse, it’s all hands on deck, so everybody on shift today is over here helping, and you know, we’ve got several volunteers that have come in to help us set up,” said Madison County Fire Chief Eric Turner.

This event is free with the exception of food purchases. Friday, July 4, gates will open at 4 p.m. and live music will begin at 5 p.m.
