Fireworks fill the sky for annual Firefighter Freedom Festival

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Firefighter Freedom Festival returned to Madison County for another year of celebrating.

Residents from all over West Tennessee made their way to the Freedom Festival to enjoy some good food, amazing rides and of course fireworks.

For Elizabeth and Estella this was their first year setting up at the festival. They sold pulled pork sandwiches, catfish and more for residents to enjoy.

“So she comes out here every year and she invited me out here this year. Yeah we’re having fun we’re finna be busy here in a few minutes,” said Elizabeth Douglas, owner of Liz Catfish & More.

The heat didn’t stop them and they were indeed busy. Along with that there was live entertainment from the Kimberlie Helton Band. They played all genres from country to blues.

“So much entertainment here. I don’t know what to say except for thanks to all the Madison County thank you to the firefighters. Thanks for everything y’all are doing for us thank you,” said Chris, attendee.

Also in the kids corner, there were water rides for children to cool off and have some fun. For two friends this was their first time attending together and they had to make sure this moment was captured with some nice hats and t-shirts.

“I made sure we got matching outfits!” said Forcynthia Mayes, attendee.

And like many others they were there for the grand finale. We hope everyone had a fun and safe Fourth of July!
