Henderson County residents hit the water for annual Festival of the Lakes

LEXINGTON, Tenn. — One local community celebrates the Fourth of July holiday with the annual Festival of the Lakes.

With the 4th of July kicking off the start of the weekend, the surrounding community visits Beech Lake for the Festival of the Lakes celebration.

It’s hosted by the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce, the City of Lexington, and the Henderson County Animal Clinic.

The day is full of fellowship, vendors and food trucks for guests to enjoy.

“It’s exciting! Great food, seeing familiar faces, and different activities to be involved in. People come from all over Tennessee just for our fireworks,” said Angela Spann, founder of Tyler Spann Water Safety Project.

“It has to have been going on at least 20 years and some of our local folks got it started years ago. They just wanted to have a firework show and its blossomed into this big festival,” said Kristina Anderson with the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce.

“We’ve had pageants early this morning, we’ve had vendors and food truck here all day. We’ve had cardboard boat races, a boat parade and like you said we had the live music going on now,” said Molly Delancey, with the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce.

If you weren’t able to attend, make sure to get a head start on next year’s 4th of July activities, as local residents plan for months out just to be a part of Festival of the Lakes.
