White Squirrel Festival wraps up with Independence Day celebration
KENTON, Tenn. — After an annual week-long celebration, residents of Kenton, and people from all over, came out Friday for the last day of the White Squirrel Festival.
Parade watchers lined the streets in the blazing hot sun, all looking forward to celebrate the the red, white and blue holiday. Along with the parade, were food vendors and even face painting for the children.
“We have come to this parade ever since our kids we’re young. Now our kids are grown, and they have kids now. And so we come with them, to be at the parade with them,” said Michael Hussey, attendee.
The festivities will wrap up this evening with a fireworks show at 9 p.m. at the city park.
