Crockett Co. Sheriff’s Office: Arrest made following stolen vehicle recovery
FRIENDSHIP, TN [July 6, 2025] – The Crockett County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the successful recovery of a stolen vehicle reported out of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the arrest of the driver, James Schweikhard, a 50-year-old white male.
On July 6, 2025, an off-duty deputy spotted the vehicle, prompting an immediate alert to on-duty officers. Upon confirmation that the vehicle was indeed reported stolen, officers executed a traffic stop and apprehended the driver without incident.
Schweikhard was arrested on charges of theft of a motor vehicle and subsequently booked into the Crockett County Jail, where he is awaiting further proceedings.
Sheriff Troy N. Klyce commended the efforts of the off-duty deputy and the responding officers for their vigilance and quick action, stating, “This incident underscores the importance of teamwork and community awareness in combating crime. We are committed to keeping our community safe and will continue to work diligently to address criminal activity.”
