Meet Officer Spreng – Jackson PD’s Newest (and Furriest) Recruit!

The Jackson, Tennessee Police Department has welcomed a brand new canine officer to the team—Spreng! This energetic 18-month-old GSP and her handler, Officer Cole, were recently certified in explosives detection and now proudly serve not just Jackson, but communities across West Tennessee.

This is Officer Cole’s first German Shorthaired Pointer, and he’s quickly learning just how smart, special, and full of energy these amazing dogs are! Recently, the Chief of Police brought Officer Cole and Spreng to meet our Tennessee state coordinator, Mandy—knowing her passion for the breed. Mandy gifted Officer Cole an official SEGSP Rescue hat and some stickers to help spread awareness about our rescue efforts. (Spreng seemed especially curious about the hat! 😉)

We’re thrilled to see a GSP doing important work and showing off just how incredible this breed truly is.
