July 26 to mark 35th anniversary of Americans with Disabilities Act

A historical law reaches a major milestone and one organization continues to fight for veterans affected by disabilities.

July 26 will mark the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act or ADA.

This is a defining moment in US  civil rights history that was meant to end discrimination against individuals with disabilities.

We spoke with Paralyzed Veterans of America CEO Carl Blake on how they plan to impact americans moving forward.

“Really what were trying to do is just public education to help the general public to help business owners to help policymakers understand that they all have a steak in this fight,” said Blake.

Today, 80% of paralyzed veterans still face accessibility barriers, reflecting a need for greater ada compliance.
