School uniforms, supplies needed for Madison County foster care children

PRESS RELEASE FROM JACKSON-MADISON COUNTY FOSTER PARENT ASSOCIATION:

JACKSON, Tenn. — In Madison County, 71 children are in foster care. The Madison County Foster Association will be providing school uniforms and supplies for 48 of them. We need the help of the community!

These children came into foster care through no fault of their own. Rather, due to abuse or neglect, the state of Tennessee felt that removal from their home would be the best way to protect them. These children often enter a foster family with only the clothes they are wearing. It is then the responsibility of foster parents to provide school uniforms and school supplies.

With the start of the fall semester just around the corner, foster children in Madison County find themselves in need of school uniforms and school supplies.

We are asking our community to show our Madison county children who are in foster care that they are loved by their city. We have 71 children in foster care in Madison County alone. Over half of these children are school aged.

To learn more, visit our website, www.jacksonfosters.com. Both physical and financial donations can be given at our website or at any Bank of Jackson branch.
The deadline is Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

Renae Adelsberger, President of the Madison County Foster Parent Association says, “This is the sixth year that the Foster Association has been able to help our foster children get ready to go back to school. We currently have 48 children on the list who have requested uniforms and school supplies. Giving out school supplies and uniforms to our children in foster care has become a highlight of our entire year. We are excited but at the same time, this is a large goal to meet. We need the support of our community in order to send these students back to school prepared with their uniforms and supplies.”
