Tennessee Highway Patrol hosts job recruitment event

JACKSON, Tenn. — One law enforcement agency held a job recruitment for their hiring period.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has job applications open until July 14.

For those who are interested in applying, qualifications include having a driver license, clean record, good heart, and willingness to serve citizens of Tennessee. Cadets will go through basic training for 17 weeks.

For those who may have background in law enforcement, and at least two years of experience, training will be for 11 weeks.

“The starting pay as a Tennessee state trooper is gonna be $68,724, and if you are a lateral, that 11-week program–after you graduate–that program will bump up to $71,820. An additional $10,000 is added to your salary if you are selected to work in Shelby County,” said Jayln Mozee, THP recruiter.

Their next recruitment event will be Chattanooga.
