PRESS RELEASE FROM ARRINGTON FUNERAL DIRECTORS:

Arrington Funeral Directors Founder Added to TFDA Wall of Fame

July 10, 2025, Jackson, TN — Arrington Funeral Directors was honored last month by the addition of Bob Arrington, Founder and President, to the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association’s Wall of Fame. This designation is reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions to the funeral service profession in Tennessee and reflects Bob’s decades of compassionate service and dedication to families across West Tennessee.

“What stands out about Bob is the kind of person he is,” said Tony Hysmith, General Manager at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson and Past President of TFDA. “He has been a role model to many of his colleagues across the state. Funeral service and giving back are his primary passions.  Whether it be his hometown, West Tennessee, or across the state, Bob has had a tremendous impact on funeral service.”

Bob’s addition to the Wall of Fame also coincides with Arrington Funeral Directors celebrating 30 years in operation after opening its doors in June 1995 with the mission to serve each family as though it was their own. His passion for that mission and the strength of his leadership has been an inspiration to all the staff at Arrington Funeral Directors and set the standard for the service they provide.

“To be recognized by your home state means a great deal to me. I cannot express the deep meaning to be included in the TFDA Wall of Fame,” Bob Arrington said. “I am forever grateful to the TFDA for guiding me and giving me the opportunity to learn and give back to this profession. I am blessed to be a Tennessee Funeral Director.”

Since its creation in 2006, TFDA has announced new inductees each year at the Tennessee Funeral Directors Convention. Portraits of prior inductees are displayed at the convention as well. This year’s convention was held in Franklin.

“It is truly a privilege for the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association to recognize and honor someone whose work and commitment to serving others has touched many lives. Not just to celebrate the individual, but to pay tribute to dedication, compassion, and unwavering professionalism that defines the very best in the funeral service profession. Bob exemplifies everything for which this profession stands,” Bob Batson, Executive Director of TFDA, said.

He continued, “Bob not only demonstrated remarkable skill and professionalism; he also recognized the importance of professional leadership through the association. Bob unselfishly served as President of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association and eventually became President of the National Funeral Directors Association where Bob was the first, and only, Tennessee funeral director to hold that honor.”
