Jackson Theatre Guild presents ‘Jimmy Buffett’s Escape to Margaritaville’

JACKSON, Tenn. — Community members gathered Friday night to escape the heat and humidity of West Tennessee thanks to some cool, inspiring tropical vibes and music.

A preview party was held this evening for the Jackson Theatre Guild’s presentation of its summer musical: “Jimmy Buffett’s Escape to Margaritaville.”

This evening’s preview, held at the Ned in downtown Jackson was the last dress rehearsal before performance where attendees could meet the cast.

“Jimmy Buffett’s Escape to Margaritaville” is based on the book by Greg Garcia and Mike O’Malley with music and lyrics by Jimmy Buffett. Organizers of the musical tell us what you can expect.

“The play is a romantic comedy that was written by Jimmy Buffett, so it’s all Jimmy Buffett music in musical theatre-style. If people love the music of Jimmy Buffett, they’re going to love the musical,” said Brandon Kelly, co-director for Jimmy Buffett’s Escape to Margaritaville.
