EAA Chapter 734 meets, awards scholarship
MCKENZIE, Tenn.—The EAA Chapter 734 (Experimental Aviation Association) hosted its monthly meeting Sunday.
This meeting took place at Carroll County Airport in McKenzie at 2 in the afternoon.
During the meeting, the chapter discussed upcoming events, flights, and other news in the aviation world. The group sometimes offers young eagle flights when weather conditions allow.
So far, the group has awarded four scholarships this year to aviation students. The scholarships are meant to help with the cost associated with training and becoming a pilot.
At today’s meeting, members awarded aviation student Rush Cox, who won their essay contest, with a $800 aviation headset.
“A lot of the time we’ll do young eagle flights or kids from counties will come and get up on a flight that last a couple of minutes. We have four scholarship members at the moment and that scholarship helps you. Gaining your pilot’s license is no cheap thing, so it helps you out with that a whole lot,” Cox said.
Pilots or anyone interested in aviation, or learning more about aircraft can join the association.
