Need your prescription? Walmart will now deliver it to your doorstep

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Walmart is now offering medication delivery at your doorstep.

Walmart’s new prescription delivery is a pharmacy delivery service that allows you to receive your eligible medications directly at your doorstep, providing convenience while helping you stay on top of your health needs.

This service aims to offer convenience, especially for those who may have difficulty making trips to the pharmacy in person.

“Last year, we asked our customers at Walmart what was their number one request for this year, and you know Walmart’s very interested in what the customers want. 55% of our customers said ‘I want delivery–pharmacy delivery,’ so it would help their families,” said Tim Tucker, pharmacy manager.

So no more walking into the store and taking the medicine off the shelf yourself. Stores here and abroad are essentially changing the way you Walmart.

“We deliver everything but mixable items, cold products and schedule drugs. Anything else can deliver. You can help grandma set it up. Wherever she gets the message that her prescriptions are ready, all she has to do is hit ‘delivery’ and a driver will take it up and take it to her house,” said Tucker.

Customers have the choice to choose from same-day express and on-demand delivery. So that means pharmacists fill the prescription, and the best part is you can track your order in real time.

You can require signature upon delivery, but that’s up to the patient. Once the prescription is filled, the delivery driver can take it to the house without a signature.

“It’s about a 40 mile radius. If you’re worried about if whether they deliver to you because you live out in the country, that’s not a problem. We will still deliver to you. We’ll be glad to get it to you. Just talk to your pharmacy associates at your store and they will help you set it up,” said Tucker.

During Covid, Walmart offered curbside pick-up, but that service is no longer available. Some pharmacies do have drive through windows, but it’s primarily in store pick-up or the new pharmacy delivery service.
