Vols star Linebacker Arion Carter headlines Night of Champions

Englewood Baptist church hosted a night of champions with a special guest. Vols football player Arion Carter.

Arion plays linebacker for the Vols and is Tennessee’s top returning tackler after recording  68 a year ago as a sophomore.
The 2025 sec football leadership council member was a leader on a Vols defense last season that allowed 16.1 Points per game.
Tonight he spoke to local middle and high school football teams about his journey from blowing his knee out in high school to winning
Mr Football and eventually getting 40 offers. He then spoke on his childhood, what it’s like running through the T on game day,

how the swamp is the toughest place he has ever played and even the best offensive player he has played up to date.

Spoiler alert it was Ohio state Jermiah Smith. But brought it back around saying  how
important academics are to remember your a student first.
I was able to speak with him and he talked about how his faith and playing football coexist and  the advice he has to others trying to be like him.

They go hand and hand just like they way that god has been able to put me in position to go out there play with my hair on fire and do this just with purpose you know represent him and his name and give all glory to god and jesus christ i feel like. Don’t doubt yourself why not you you can be the difference why cant you be the match to start that fire you know i feel like alot times in this day and age we doubt ourselves to much as being athletes when all you need is yourself in the confidence in the world to go out there and do the best you can.”
Arion went on to say that he loves
giving back to the community.
