Precautionary water boil notice remains in effect in Selmer

SELMER, Tenn. – A precautionary water boil notice remains in effect for many in Selmer while the city awaits the results of water testing. The Selmer Utility Division announced on Thursday, July 17, at 9:44 a.m. that water samples had been taken following a leak and they were awaiting results.

On Wednesday, July 16, issued a Precautionary Water Boil Notice after water pressure was lost throughout the west side of the system. The Selmer Utility Division’s crews worked to locate any water leaks that might have caused the loss in pressure.

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) was notified of the issue.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the crews discovered the leak and the Utility Division announced the leak was repaired on Thursday morning at approximately 7:17 a.m.
