R.O.T.O. Nation and others partner for Back to School event

MILAN, Tenn.—And another organization is also helping students in Milan gear up for the start of school.

R.O.T.O. Nation, the Milan Chamber of Commerce, and Anytime Fitness of Milan partnered to host a fun event Saturday.

A back to school event for grades K-8 took place at 1069 South Main Street, behind City Hall in Milan.

The fun began at noon and festivities continued until 3 in the afternoon.

There was free food provided to participants and also lots of free school supplies given away.

“The Back to School Bash was created because we are a non-profit organization that focuses on the youth. So, we wanted to make sure that we could help students go to school feeling confident and prepared. The school supplies that we bought were the most essential school supplies, so it consists of composition notebooks, notebook paper and plastic folders. Then a pencil pouch with pencils, glue sticks, expo marker, highlighters and crayons,” said Serenitie Newby, Founder of R.O.T.O. Nation.

R.O.T.O. Nation organized the event to help families who may be struggling with the cost of supplies needed for the upcoming school year.

R.O.T.O. Nation will also host a supply giveaway in Humboldt on July 26.
