Safehaven Outreach Ministries hosts Back to School Bash

JACKSON, Tenn.—One local ministry helps students to prepare for the upcoming school year.

Safehaven Outreach Ministries hosted a Back to School Bash Saturday in Jackson.

The event took place at 77 Carriage House Drive beginning at 11 in the morning and continuing until 4:30pm.

There were backpacks given away along with other supplies to prepare kindergarteners and older students for the start of school.

Each backpack was filled with pencils, rulers, crayons and more, each one tailored to the age and supplies needed for each grade level.

Vinyl Plus Depot in Jackson partnered with Safehaven to help provide the supplies. And donations were also accepted.

Safehaven Ministries even partnered with Barber School to provide free haircuts to children 13 and under. Some free minor health check ups were also offered.

“Not everyone is able to equip their child with the right clothing and things are different in this time and in this season of our country, but we want to be able to be a help so that it will help them,” said Dorinda Myles, Administrative Director, Safehaven Outreach Ministries.

“We have a tent revival coming up in September that will be right out here on the corner that we are now doing annually, so be looking out for that. The tent revival will be in September,” said Ebony Harris, Pastor, Safehaven Ministries.

Safehaven Outreach Ministries is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the local community.
