Driver airlifted after collision on train tracks
ATWOOD, Tenn. — Around 9:28 a.m. Monday morning, emergency responders in Atwood were called to the scene of a collision at the intersection of Hamilton Street and 2nd Street.
A car was struck by a CSX Tie Extractor (TKO). Atwood Fire Department officials said the driver of the vehicle was the only occupant in the car and he was air lifted to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Fire officials working the scene said there was no significant impact to traffic.
The Carroll County EMA director has reported the accident to the state.
